Bayer is supporting the establishment of a nationwide blood-donor database in Argentina in conjunction with the FUNDALEU Foundation, which has been fighting leukemia for decades, and the Argentinean Health Ministry. At present, 90 percent of blood donated in Argentina comes directly from patients' friends or relatives. The aim of the new database is to register donors and thus improve nationwide management of blood supplies.
